Throwback Thursday Movies:
Nolan Recommends:
- Leaving Las Vegas (1995) – The Roku Channel, Hoopla and Pluto TV
- Stop Making Sense (1984) – Prime Video
- Cool Hand Luke (1967) – HBO Max
Stephanie Recommends:
- Pretty in Pink (1986) – Sling
A John Hughes classic starring the 80’s superstar Molly Ringwald. It follows an self taught fashionista and her best friend as they navigate the politics of high school as kids that grew up on the “wrong side of the tracks” - Mannequin (1987) – FandangoNow app
A stock boy who works the night shift at the mall falls in love with a mannequin that comes to life at night. You can’t beat a plot that crazy. One of my favorite 80’s movies. - The Muppets Take Manhattan (1984) – Showtime app
The Muppets move to NYC to try to get their musical “Manhattan Melodies” produced. It’s a beautiful story about ambition and friendship told by everyone’s favorite Jim Henson characters.
TV Hour:
Nolan recommends:
- The Simpsons – Kill Gil, Volumes 1 & 2 S18 E09 (Disney+, Hulu)
- Punky Brewster – Yes, Punky, There is a Santa Clause S01 E12 (Peacock, NBC)
- Everybody Loves Raymond – Christmas Present S05 E11 (Peacock, Sling)
Stephanie recommends:
- The Walking Dead – The Day Will Come When You Won’t Be S7 E1 (Netflix)
The infamous episode where we say goodbye to Abraham and Glen in one of the most gruesome TV deaths in history. Unfortunately this will also be one of the last stellar seasons of “The Walking Dead”. - Beverly Hills 90210 – A Night To Remember S3 E27 (Hulu)
When Donna Martin has too much to drink at a pre-prom party her friends try their hardest to keep her from getting caught. Unfortunately their luck runs out. “Donna Martin Graduates”. - Game of Thrones – The Winds Of Winter S6 E10 (Hulu, HBOMax)
Cersei is probably one of the best villains in the history of television. This episode she truly earns that title.
