Feature Friday Movies

I, Tonya (2017)

Cindy Recommends:

  1. Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens (2015) – Available on Disney+
  2. Black Panther (2018) – Available on Disney+
  3. Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) (2020) – Available on HBOMax

Nolan Recommends:

  1. Logan (2017) – FX Now, Sling, Spectrum
The first R Rated X-Men movie does not disappoint. Turn down the lights and turn up the volume for this one.
  2. I, Tonya (2017) – Hulu
Margot Robbie delivers a stunning performance as a semi-fictionalized version of Tonya Harding in this, unfortunately, true and quite funny story.
  3. Knives Out (2019) – Amazon Prime Video
Chunky knit sweaters. Games a foot! Rich snobs. So who dun it?
  4. A Star Is Born (2019) – Netflix
Just watched this on a Friday night myself and after it finished I was mad at myself for not watching this sooner.

Spoiler Steve Recommends:

  1. Crazy, Stupid, Love (2011) – Available on Peacock
One of my favorite movies from 2011, there’s some great storylines and performances. Also the start to Hollywood’s love with Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling.

Stephanie Recommends:

  1. Knives Out (2019) – Availabe on Prime Video
A new age “whodunit” with a stacked cast that bring humor, plot twists and a trust in the audience’s intellect that feels fresh and appreciated
  2. The Gentlemen (2020) – Available on Showtime
Guy Richie brings his “A” game with this film. Stellar performances and a unique plot carry this film to a great end.
  3. Downton Abbey (2019) – Available on HBOMax
For fans of the show this film will feel like a warm hug. Prepare to visit old friends that work for the Grantham family as they care for each other and their work during a highly anticipated royal visit.
  4. The Invisible Man (2020) – Available on HBOMax
A fresh new take on this classic story. A great film that can only be described as cruel, intense and uncomfortable… in the best way possible.

Steph Recommends:

  1. Schitts Creek (Netflix)
A lighthearted comedy sure to bring laughter to any audience.
  2. Family Guy (Hulu)
It’s animated, raunchy, and hilarious. There are 18 seasons available that can help anyone pass the time
  3. The Boys (Amazon)
A world where superheros aren’t always the good guys…sign me up. It’s action packed and compelling. Some of the best original steaming programming to be made in the last 5 years
  4. How To Get Away With Murder (Netflix)
An esteemed law professor and her students get caught up in murder and illicit activity together. What can go wrong?
  5. The West Wing (Netflix)
A late 90’s drama that bring together superb actors to portray life as staff members in the west wing of the white house.
