Animation Wednesdays | December 30, 2020 | Scene-It Streaming Guide
Today, Spoiler Steve give us his recommendations for today’s Animation Wednesday.
Favorite Animated Movies of 2020:
- The Willoughbys (2020) – Netflix
A fantastic film about a couple of orphans who have to fend for themselves when their parents don’t return. Luckily, their parents have always ignored them so this …shouldn’t be a problem. - Onward (2020) – Disney+
Honestly, this was a huge surprise to me. What feels like a mediocre dungeons and dragons story that Disney decided to adapt turns out to have one of the best heartwarming endings I’ve seen in a very long time. - Trolls World Tour (2020) – Hulu, Peacock
A decent sequel that doesn’t require you to watch it’s predecessor, Trolls World Tour has great music sequences with a decent story.
Animated Movie Recommendations:
- A Goofy Movie (1995) – Disney+
A classic that has a compelling two-sided story from the point-of-views of a father and son. If you haven’t seen this since you were a kid, I urge you to give it a revisit. - Justice League: The New Frontier (2008) – HBOMax
A great one-shot film that brings together DC’s mightiest heroes in a retelling of the formation of the Justice League. No prior knowledge is needed to view this film. - How to Train Your Dragon (2010) – Prime Video
One of the best animated franchises to come out in the past 20 years, there’s nothing negative I can say about How to Train Your Dragon.
Animated TV Hour:
- Rick and Morty – Meeseeks and Destroy S01 E05 (HBOMax)
If you have a friend who didn’t get into Rick and Morty after the first episode, they might’ve started at the wrong episode (and yes, that includes the pilot episode). Besides the finale, the episodes in season 1 are all contained and don’t bleed into other stories. For me, I always recommend watching Meeseeks and Destroy first. - X-Men: Evolution (Disney+)
- King of the Hill (Hulu)
