Dramedy Tuesdays | December 29, 2020 | Scene-It Streaming Guide
This week, Nolan gives us his recommendations for Dramedy Tuesday.
Favorite Dramedy Films of 2020:
- Palm Springs (2020) – Available to stream on Prime Video
A really fun film that flies along at breakneck pace. The best rom-com of the year. - Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) (2020) – Available to stream on HBO Max
Birds of Prey is a very entertaining and jam packed action movie, with some great laughs and character building moments. There is a movie long joke that pays off in spades and left me hungry leaving the theatre. - The Lovebirds (2020) – Available to stream on Netflix
Upon breaking up on the way to a party, horror and hilarity ensue for Kumail Nanjiani and Issa Rae.
Dramedy Movie Recommends
- Molly’s Game (2018) – Available to stream on Netflix
A top movie for me. This has a little bit of everything in it, including that patented fast talking Sorkin dialogue. Great acting performances by Jessica Chastain and Idris Elba carry this movie to new heights. You will leave the movie wanting more. - The Art of Self-Defense (2019) – Available to stream on Hulu
An awkwardly delivered and hilarious dark comedy starring Jesse Eisenberg, Alessandro Nivola and Imogen Poots. The movie takes a couple unexpected turns and pace will keep you entertained throughout. - Eighth Grade (2018) – Available to stream on Prime Video
A new era coming of age story from first time director Bo Burnham. Filled with lots of teenage cringe and heartwarming scenes, Eighth Grade will take you back to middle school and experience life again, but this time through the social media age.
Sitcom TV Hour:
- Dave – The Gander S01 E01 (Hulu)
- Corporate – Vacation S02 E09 (Comedy Central)
- Curb Your Enthusiasm – Meet The Blacks S06 E01 (HBO Max)
