Now that we’ve gotten over the hump, it’s time to take a moment and reflect on some of our favorite films for Throwback Thursday!

The Matrix (1999)

Nolan Recommends:

  1. The Colour of Money (1986) – Available on Prime Video
    Early Tom Cruise being a complete charisma machine, late era Paul Newman shining and a blink and you’ll-miss-it Forest Whitaker appearance. Gambling, sharking and respecting women. What else more could you ask for in a throwback?
  2. Harold and Maude (1971) – Available on Prime Video, CBS, Tubi, Pluto TV
    This movie’s soundtrack alone makes it worth the watch. A dark comedy that has many many many different opinions on what is actually going, or not going on throughout. Sit back and enjoy while Maude driving is me playing GTA
  3. The Matrix (1999) – Available on HBO Max
    Re-watching this during the pandemic was a trip, one that we should all take once. So take the Red Pill and find out who the real virus is! *Spoiler, the virus is the human race as per Agent Smith*

Spoiler Steve Recommends:

  1. Fargo (1996) – Available on Prime Video, Netflix, CBS All Access & Pluto TV
    One of the best Coen Brothers movies, this is the perfect time to revisit this classic after the finale of season 4.
  2. The Hustler (1961) – Available on YoutubeTV, FX Network
    If you were like me and thought, “holy sh*t the Color of Money is awesome“, then it’s time to see the prequel. And guess what, The Color of Money is a sequel! 25 years earlier Paul Newman has the same attitude as Tom Cruise did and is taken under the wing of the great Jackie Gleason!
  3. A Little Princess (1995) – Available on HBO Max,
    About a young girl who loses her father to the war and is left in an orphanage, this is a great family film directed by ‘Roma’ director Alfonso Cuarón.
